Will the root method for the Nabi 1 also work for the Nabi 2? Is there a known working root method?

Rooting the Nabi 2 is not recommend by FUHU. I know someone who did it and he was asked not to release the "how to".

I don't think any manufacturer would recommend rooting their devices.
But those of us who like to root their devices do it anyway. :-)

I am happily waiting for someone to post a how to.

If someone can figure it out as another Fan-a-Tech has they can post it. Why do you want to root it?

I can tell you why I would like root. To install Google Play Store for one, so as not to have to go the 'cut and paste' method of sideloading. Another reason is to be able to run apps like GL to SD, and circumvent the 8GB internal memory limit. There are also apps which I run that require root for one reason or another...

Sigh..

If someone has already figured out how to root the Nabi 2, they should post the "how to". As mentioned earlier, no manufacturer wants their devices rooted but the devices are ours and if we decide to root them we should be able too.

stepka, perhaps a little arm twisting on your part to this anonymous person would make him change his mind. =D

To root is one of the best things about Android. I love having write access to read only folders, and I love customization, and programs such as Battery Calibration or Titanium Back Up. We own the devices we purchase and should be able to do with them what we please. After all Android is based on Linux, the epitome of open source. Please, to the person who figured out root, post a how-to. ;)

I can say that even with a root the Google Play store is not fully functional right away, there is a lot of changes that need to be made to make it 99% functional. There is a Fan-a-Tech working on it now, sit tight for now. I can say that once it is available it will be posted all over the bloggs, here and possibly the FB page.

Tried it, works!

Thanks a million!

I am running Titanium Backup, which I just downloaded from the Play Store..

heh... I had already voided my warranty by removing the grid on the back, I put it back on but I wanted to see what was beneath it. ( apparently they have a way of knowing if you took it off though... )
